Love their fried chicken and biscuits! Love that it's Halal too!! Their customer service could improve a bit, but so can all of Fort Washington business for that matter. They are nicer than some other places around here.

I'm giving three stars due to the Owner taking the time out to speak to me about the Veggie options. As the cashier was rude & clearly doesn't know how to multi task...let alone greet their customers. I went with the Salmon Kabob that was greatly marinated & cooked perfectly over the grill. I opted for Chickpeas which was a in very delicious stew & sautéed spinach that was seasoned pretty well. I told the cashier twice no rice but she didn't grasp the single request & gave me rice anyways...I don't like to waste food but hey, I made my effort. I was happy to see Ginger Ale as an option on the soda machine but not for almost $3 per cup. So I walked to Safeway & bought a bottle for a dollar & came back for my food. It's a convenient place to grab some food on the way to the Marina, but I wouldn't make this location a priority to get food due to the horrible service.

Really, the fried chicken here is just ridiculous!! It's crispy and juicy and seasoned very well. I usually have to wait a bit, but overall I guess it's worth the wait. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. The prices are very reasonable and for as many people as I've seen in this place, there is ample parking.

I enjoyed the gyro salad with extra meat. Salad is filling and the blt with beef bacon is pretty good. Only complaint is it seems as if they pile on a whole head of lettuce into the sandwich. Overall, pretty good place to eat.

Lord Almighty! I was there today with two friends: Two of us got the chicken kabob with the lamb curry side, and our other friend got the lamb gyro with fries. Let.Me .Tell.You! First of all, I didn't want to go all the way to VA or DC when I leave up the highway from Kabob House, but had never taken the time to go in when I've been seeing it for years. So, today, I did an app search on my phone and noticed it...decided to give it a go. The food was AMAAAAAAAAZING! The lamb was tender and juicy, the chicken was flavorful and distinctly unique it its native, Middle Eastern spices...sumac and all. The side of naan was cooked to perfect: crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. It went perfectly well with the side sauces and the side of basmati rice (and plate juices). The service was amazing. We also tried samples of the mac n cheese (PER.FEC.TION!). Not many restaurants can pull off an amazing mac n cheese, and now I found my spot that will do the job! And thank God, they're right around the corner from me. I encourage all lovers of the exotic, lovers of Middle Eastern cuisine, and Soul Food lovers, to come down to Crown Fried Chicken & Kabob House...the food was cooked with love, and you feel it! Foodgasms, mouthgasms...all that good stuff at great prices! I am hooked for life, y'all! xoxoxo

Finally found a place to get my kabob fix in the hood! Really enjoyed the chicken and lamb kabob combo. The meat was flavorful and very tender, with the lamb bordering on medium/medium rare, and the chicken was moist. My combo also came with rice, Afghan bread, a small shirazee salad and your choice of veggie side item. In this case I chose the chickpeas, which were good but not great. This place also serves some delicious fried chicken and chicken wings, which you can order with waffles for breakfast (or anytime of the day) which is the way God intended and is probably the best meal you could have to start the day with. Ever. So now the dilemma I face when in the Fort Washington area is chicken wings with mumbo sauce from Hong Kong Express, or chicken wings with waffles from Crown next door? What a great problem to have!

It is with great disappointment that I have to downgrade my rating of Crown. My last three visits have been a disappointment ; a failure; and an epic failure. We usually utilized Crown as our "go to" restaurant when we have relatives or a social gathering at our home and we don't want to cook. We usually order items from all segments of the menu to accommodate four to eight visitors. The order that finally ended my relationship with the restaurant was on the Saturday before Super Bowl Sunday. We had a large order that consisted of salmon kabobs, 3 sub sandwiches, 15 pieces of chickens. 10 chicken wings, a 10 piece shrimp basket. Seven people tasted the food and rejected their dishes. We threw out more 50% of the food that we ordered. I don't know what has happen to the restaurant. Maybe they have new cooks or they have reduced the quality of their food they are serving. On the two previous visits, prior to "Super Bowl epic failure" I returned food to the restaurant for a do over. Upon returning the food they were gracious and accepted my criticisms. However, I can't continue to recommend them.

This was a great find! I had a craving for a gyro with tzatziki sauce. My local on-line search led me to Crown that left me more curious than skeptical. The place looks fast-food, except that you're able to see some of the sides- deli style. The gyro was exactly what I was craving. so amazing. The pita and everything inside was fresh. I'm not sure the meat came by slicing from a turning, roasted spit. I was hoping for more of a thin, shaved meat- but still, it tasted great. We're looking forward to returning to try out more. there are so many choices of food there. and I love the mix of cultures. Thanks!

How I heard of this place: While visiting our friend Mahnoz, my parents decided it would be lovely to invite her out for lunch. She offered either this Afghan restaurant or Safeway's deli, and we - easily - made our decision. Type of cuisine: Exactly what it says in the name: fried chicken and kabobs, with all the sides that you would imagine go with the two. Ambiance: We pulled up to the shopping strip, which included a few free-standing pavillions including this imaginative compbination of a dining establishment. The bright blue and yellow everything first caught my attention. Our party of four made our way across the blue carpet, complete with gold crown logo and restaurant name and into the fast food ambiant space. A bamboo wall forced us to make a left and go find ourselves in line for placing our orders. Looking up, I found recessed lights in black ceiling tiles, meeting up against the yellow stripe of paint that wrapped around the top third of the wall; a sandy paint followed, and the blue stripe, meeting with the blue booth benches made its way to the tiled floors. The back-lit, bright menu boards overhead shared the menu options, but we could look to the left and see, behind the glass display, our selection of Afghani sides. What I ordered: All four of us selected the Boneless Chicken Kabobs ($9.45 each) with rice and one side order. On my plate, the chicken and rice were accompanied by half-order of each: spinach and spicy chickpeas. My mom and Mahnoz enjoyed the chickpeas and eggplant as their half-sides, while my dad savored a full order of the spicy chickpeas. Each of our plates also included a salad of tomatoes, cucumber and onion in a minty vinaigrette, as well as a large, freshly baked, fluffy and warm Afghani pita. What I loved: The tender chicken, the flavorful eggplant, and the spice of the chickpeas. The warm bread was a beautiful addition, though none of had the space to consume it. Why I loved it: Middle Eastern fast food. 'Nuff said. Cost: Average ($9-$10 per kabob platter)

Great chicken and the biscuits are to die for the only thing I have a problem with is the wait one time I went up there and I waited nearly 15 minutes maybe even more just for my chicken to come out and biscuits. Other than that great place to go if you like some good fried chicken and southern baked biscuits

I love this place. If you're getting something custom you'll have to wait awhile but it'll be worth it. The fried chicken is amazing, the kabobs are great and the salmon is excellent. For sides I like the rice and spinach. Their flat bread is the best in the business bar none. My kids often want to come just for the bread. One time in a rush we tried them for breakfast and it was also very good. The staff is very nice and the owner is extremely down to earth and pleasant

This is really 2 restaurants in 1: Afghani and the typical Fried chicken/waffle side. I never had the fried chicken because, well, fried chicken places abound in this part of PG county, but this is the only place for Afghani food here. My go to is the lamb kabob house combo: ( lamb kabobs, rice, 1 side, nan, and cucumber salad) and I get an order of the eggplant. The eggplant is delicious! If you like eggplant, then you have to try this. In fact, if you don't like eggplant, you'll start liking it after eating this. I've had the spinach and the chickpeas. The spinach is okay (other family members love it), but I think the chickpeas are wonderful (other family members don't think it's as good as I do.) Seriously folks, you can have a fine meal with the chickpeas and eggplant alone. The lamb kabobs are juicy and well portioned. Only once did I have a dry kabob piece, but the other pieces were juicy and nicely seasoned. I've tasted the chicken and seekah kabobs others in my family have ordered they are good too. One of these days I'll try the fried chicken, but until that day the lamb kabob combo with chickpeas and an order of eggplant is number 1 in my book.

My husband and I finally had a chance to check out CFCKH. It was well worth the trip from Virginia. 1. Chicken Kabob with rice and pumpkin: chicken was tender and juicy, rice had a little to much nutmeg for me, pumpkin had a nice combo of sweet and spicy. 2. Lamb Gyro: best I've had in the DMV area. 3. Fried chicken: chicken was fresh and perfectly cooked, nice blend of Cajun spices. The only down fall of the place was that there was no AC working at the time of our visit.

First time here. Tasted pretty good. Scrambled eggs w/cheese, bacon, homefries, grape kool-aid. Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu...

This is my very first time at this place! A friend of mine said their chicken was good, so I decided to try it out! The chicken was good! It had a little spice to it which was unexpected but was very good! I am not local to this area, but before we knew it, the place was packed! Clearly, the locals know something! All in all, the chicken was good and we didn't have to wait to long for it! I would def try it again!!

This was my first time stopping for lunch. It was fantastic. Everything looked fresh, the dining area was clean, and the service was competent ( which for this area is hard to come by). The best part was the food. I got the lamb gyro combo and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I wanted something different other than fast food, but I usually am disappointed with ordering lamb, even in a good restaurant. The lamb was seasoned perfectly, and over all, the flavors were bright, fresh, and wonderful. The best gyro I've had in years. Another bonus was the fries. You get a big bag of tasty seasoned fries that are a meal in itself. Service was good, and the wait was reasonable. Prices were good too. For the same price as a value meal, you could have a great healthy meal here instead. I highly recommend this place, one of the tastiest in Fort Washington.

I had been to Crown many times and had the regular fried chicken, fried wingettes, buffalo wings, steak and cheese subs, and Philly cheesesteaks, all of which were very good. I have had my share of issues with them, though. 1) They seem to have phone issues very often, so sometimes when you attempt to call in, you cannot get through. Sometimes a fax machine picks up, sometimes they pick up and hang up, sometimes it goes straight to a generic voicemail like it's someone's cell phone, and sometimes they just leave you on hold and never come back. 2) The wait time for food is lengthy, even when you have called in, hence why the phone problems are so incredibly annoying. 3) The customer service is non-existent. In August 2014, I was planning a party so I called to ask how much was a catering size order of wingettes. The young owner quoted me one price, and told me I had to come in the restaurant to place the order, which I did the very next day. When I got there, the same young owner I spoke with told me that the price had increased JUST THAT DAY due to a hike in pricing from their wing distributor, resulting in my order being about $20 more! I told him that I had JUST spoken with him on the phone yesterday and he quoted me a completely different price. He even told me to grab a catering menu which was behind me, and look at the new pricing. I looked at it and the pricing was exactly the same as what he had quoted me on the phone, and I showed him. He then apologized saying "oh sorry, we didn't change that menu yet. But your price would be the NEW price, my dad would require me to charge you that." I said "your dad???? What does your dad have to do with the conversation you and I had on the phone, and the one we are having now, if he isn't available for me to speak with?" He kept apologizing and then started acting almost as if he didn't understand what I was saying! I was furious! In a most goods/service environments, even when a price is simply mis-marked, companies honor the mis-marked or mis-quoted pricing due to their own error, which I have seen happen even in a large purchase like a car! We were only talking about a $20 loss for him here! Because of this, I placed my catering order someplace else and continue to use THAT OTHER PLACE to this day, as I use caterers often. So this resulted in a lot more than a $20 loss for them from me, in addition to the fact that I refuse to place small orders here anymore either. No offense to foreign-born restaurant owners, but I have found this to be a common trend with them, and I highly recommend they all consider this when they start to lose regular customers.

Thie name of this place should be Afghan delight. I ate here when they first opened. I don't remember what I got but I was not impressed. Since then, due to lack of options I ate here again. I got the fried chicken because the line at the neighborhood KFC was looping around the store. It's ok. Then I gave it another chance. I ordered the gyro and was so impressed I got it again for my family's dinner. We decided to try the side dishes next. I wish I could get a tub of this stuff. The lamb curry and chick peas are amazing and now I order them as a meal. If you throw in a samosa (or 4) it's quite a meal. Pricing is average for afghan or indian food. Did I mention samosa.... Uhh for 1.50 it's fried pastry with potato and other yummies .. heaven ! We are making it a regular stop for late work days. I recommend you stick with the non American dishes.

DIRTY!!!!!!! don't waste your time or money here, go the restaurants in the back corner of the complex. You won't be sorry. This place has some of the most dank bathrooms you can imagine. Their employees act like they are just hanging out, and constantly on their cell. The whole place is gross. The food didn't give me the squirts but maybe because didn't each much.

I ordered the chicken wings and chickpeas from here. Man, those wings were awesome and super Krispy. At first I was wondering why it took so long when there was chicken laying out under the heat lamps like KFC, but I'll wait as long as it takes for these fresh, hot, wonderfully fried wings. This place is an odd combo of fried chicken and kabobs, but hey it works and they've done a great job thus far. Hate the calories, but I guess that just means more time at the gym. So worth it!

It is really good to see something other than fast food in this area. It is Middle East fast food and the obligatory fast food fare, not a sit down restaurant, but it is less than 5minutes from home so Im not going to complain. Tired of driving all the way to Virginia to get something other than hamburgers and fried chicken.

I went into the "kabob king" @10:40pm to order a kabob combo to take home. I had worked a long day and all I wanted was some food and to relax at home. The guy tells me "we stop serving kabobs @10:30am" I said "that does not make any sense if your called the kabob king and you're open till 11om and don't even serve kabobs till you close? So I started to walk out the door and the guy throws his hands in the air and shrugs his shoulders to the people standing around like I was stupid or something! So then I felt insulted and with menu in hand I went back and showed him thier hours on the take out menu that said open till 11pm! I would have been okay with it had the customer service not been so bad! I will never patronize this establishment again because of how rude thier employees are and if you want food you better get there 30mins before they close!

3.5 stars ---------- CHICKEN REVIEW ---------- Serving both fried chicken and ethnic kabob food is a little confusing. How does that even go together and which one is better? The only way it made sense to me is that an immigrant owner bought out a chicken joint and decided to add his own ethic cuisine to the menu. Regardless of what the real story is, I decided to try the fried chicken. I was going to get like a 3 piece meal (~$6), but for ~$2 more I decided to get the 10-piece chicken special (drumsticks and thighs....BONUS!!!). I didn't want the biscuits and sides anyway. I was pleasantly surprised the skin had a nice crispy crunch to it. I could just feel my arteries tightening up, as I devoured one piece after another. I suppose I was expecting a more flavorful kick of spices, but instead I got more of a subdued, good old fashion taste of home cooking. Being that it was dark meat instead of white breast meat, it was hot, juicy, and tender...and yes greasy too! YUM! Obviously we had left overs which were good the next day. If you are expecting fast food fried chicken (a la KFC or Popeyes, then you may be disappointed. Though I won't go out of my way for this, it's certainly worthy of consideration next time I'm around there.

Breakfast is great. Not a big fan of anything else. Wings are small and fish tastes like the chicken. Definitely a bit overpriced.

Delicious food at affordable prices. The fried chicken is so juicy and crispy!! Make you wanna slap YO MOMMA! On the menu, American and Halal food. They serve breakfast, gyros, kabobs, and seafood platters. My go to spot every Sunday. Its not crowded, and the owners/ workers are always pleasant! And the iced tea is the best I've ever had!

This place is a gem! From the first time I visited, I never would have expected the Halal/Afghan selections to be so good. I figured I'd have to travel into DC or NVA to find this kind of food. The menu is plentiful. Breakfast is great - beef bacon, home fries - yum! My typical order is the salmon kabobs - so so good. The salmon salad is great too. The side selections are great too and always fresh. If you haven't checked this place out, jump on it. You won't be disappointed. Tip: Food is cooked fresh so call ahead to avoid the wait time.

1st time visiting, not impressed at all and last visit. Walking in, there were no patrons dining in and it looked as if they're in the middle of being renovated i.e missing tiles from the floor, out of place ice cream cart, etc. The young guy w/glasses taking the order acting as if I was aggravating him, as the phone was ringing, didn't make for "good" customer service. I ordered the Salmon Kabob Combo and my daughter the 4 pc Chicken Tenders w/fries. The kabob was meh, side of spinach taste like it came from a can (yuck) and the naan was crispy hard. I ended up throwing away everything except the salmon kabob, which I've placed in a container to add to a salad tomorrow. I tasted my daughter's chicken tenders and they were good; fries not so much....Well, as I type this, I'm eating leftover whiting, collard greens and potato salad from Accokeek Seafood Restaurant (leftover lunch from earlier in the day) and it tasted a helluva lot better than the mess I just wasted $11.99 on. Been there, done that, will not go back!

This place is not the cleanest on the inside. Which should have been a clue for me but when I was waiting in line I saw a fat roach and walked out. I will never order food from that place again. Eat there is you do not mind getting getting your food from a dirty place that has roaches.

A great place to eat! Love their gyros & everybody there is nice! I alway come here at night and the place is pretty empty. Their biscuits are amazing too. It's a pretty friendly place to come eat at and enjoy your food.

First time here. My wife and I had the lamb kebab salad and the gyro pita combo. Both were excellent! I subbed chickpeas in place of the fries. My only complaint is that the interior is a little dirty (had to clean our own table). Food is 5 stars though!

Kebobs in Fort Washington???? I would normally have to go to Virginia to find Middle Eastern food, but this place is just down the street and is pretty good for getting the Kebob/Mid east fix satisfied. The prices range from $5 to about $15. You get a lot of food though and there's a good variety to choose from. And they even have fried chicken. I had lamb with rice, chick peas, tomatos and a big Pita bread. I had to wait a few minutes, but the meal was worth it.

I tried this place when it first opened. What I'd like to know is how is this place still in business. I ordered the chicken kabob and what I got was dry, over cooked, favor-less food. Oh let's not forget that this place lacks customer service. The cashier moved ever so slow and appeared to be annoyed that she had to take my order.

  • Suba J.

They have the best fried chicken wings(wing zings) we always get a 100 piece (or 150) for our parties and we always run out. Next time we need to order 200. I love their lamb kabab( a good substitute for my Indian food craving since there are no indian resturants in the immediate area). The rice is good as well as the chick peas. I do not like the afgan samosas as much as the Indian version. The owners and staff are very friendly and they even recognize my voice when I call in an order. We also had breakfast here with the family and everything was good. Their Tandoori wings are also good.

Order freshly prepared food, not the food sitting out. That is my main piece of advice. Mediocre, but one of the few places in the area to get kababs. For fried chicken stick with KFC

First, I have not had a bad dish here. They deliver tons of food for the price, and it's all well-cooked and delicious. Let's review the offerings. Breakfast: crispy chicken, fluffy waffles. One of the great mysteries in life is why anyone would go to the McDonald's next door. For the same price, you can get food made with real ingredients. They also eggs and beef bacon. Afghani cuisine: It tastes almost like Indian food. The nan is excellent. The veggies are a little greasy, but I give that a pass. Middle Eastern gyros, etc: High quality, flavorful meat. The sandwiches are generously stuffed. This is fast food at its most authentic best. And all the meals are halal.

    (5)
  • Tiffany B.

Word to the wise... Place your order ahead of time... I got the Gyro which was pretty good... the meat was a little dry... but it still had a good flavor... It just took like 20 minutes for my order to come up... which wasn't really worth the wait... I'll will come back to this place... but I'll just make sure to order ahead of time...

Salty, marginal quality. I ordered a kabob platter, but everything tasted like they dumped an entire container of salt on it, even (and especially) the meat to the point of making everything sickeningly salty. When I mentioned it, the person corrected me and said "spicy". No, salty. The only reason for 2 stars is they seem to make some of the food themselves (you know... add some meat or vegetable to the salt).

Had a great dinner last night here. Ordered the chicken kabob and it was fork tender and delicious. The platter came with a side of seasoned basmati rice and a fresh salad of cucumbers, tomatoes and herbs. It also came with one additional that you can choose from and I picked the chickpeas. They also gave you a generous piece of freshly made tandoor naan. The food was all very well prepared and delicious. The people running the restaurant were VERY friendly and it looks like they know all their regular customers. Regular customers means repeat business. That's what they're going to get from me because it was darn good food.

What a FIND! I was planning a Ladies Night IN and didn't want to go through the hassle of frying chicken and having the house smell like grease. Couldn't think of where I could find some "good chicken" besides my old stand by Popeye's. Riding down 210 and decided to stop in Crown Fried Chicken and Kabob House to check them out. I ordered a two piece white meat with spinach as a side and it was DELICIOUS. Perfectly seasoned, fried just right not to hard. So I ordered an 80 piece for just over $50 thinking it would be chicken wingettes. Humph, imagine my surprise when I showed up to pick up my order and saw them taking my hot FULL chicken wings out of the grease! My immediate response OMG OMG it's whole chicken wings! The owner just beamed at my absolute pleasure. So the real test was at the party. EVERYBODY complimented me on the chicken. For a split second I contemplated taking the credit but that wouldn't have been right, so I gave Crown Fried Chicken & Kabob House their props and I expect they will have a lot more party orders soon! *licks lips

Lousy service! After sitting for 30 minutes for 10-piece chicken, I had to get my money back and leave. They need to hire more people. Terrible experience!

Ok, so this is the second time I tried this place out. Came here with the miss about a year ago and grabbed a cheesesteak sandwich (only marginally ok and fries were mediocre). So, today I was in the mood for Kabobs or Tandoori chicken. Thought let me give this place a try again and I'm glad I did. Grabbed the tandoori chicken platter with salad and rice and boy it was pretty good. Apparently they made it to order since I had to wait 10 minutes. Chicken was authentically flavored, rice was flavorful, and the salad was unique. Fresh ingredients and the portion was HUGE. All for 6 bucks?! Definitely good quality food. I was skeptical at first since a few flies were flying around, thus only 4 stars. But I shall be back for more!

I have been to this place about 5 times and they have been very consistent. The food is affordable, staff isn't rude but don't expect a friendly smile and the food is seasoned well. The meals I can recommend are the chicken sandwich, gyro and chicken curry. The one complaint I have about them is they are slooooowwww!!! Do yourself a favor and call in your order.

Went in as a skeptic, left as a believer. Kabob is one of my favorite dishes, and I have visited many kabob joints in the area. Crown's kabob is among the best. I ordered the lamb kabob platter, which is my usual choice. The lamb was cooked to perfection, very tender, and well seasoned. The basmati rice was cooked perfectly, well seasoned and flavorful. The side of pumpkin was a little too sweet for me, but I will happily try the chickpeas as a substitute next time. The bottom line is this place has great kabob, is fairly priced, and I look forward to going back to try the fried chicken and breakfast dishes.

Although I was definitely skeptical of the chicken (the few times we ordered from here, there were ample amounts of feathers still stuck to and fried with the chicken) but I went again with my sons who both ordered jumbo shrimp dinners and I ordered the lamb gyro. Way to Completely change my opinion of this spot! The lamb & zstasiki sauce were on point and there were also little chunks of Gouda or feta cheese mixed in with the sauce, meat and Fresh veggies!!! This is the closest I have come to the authentic taste I experienced in Germany.. I will definitely be back many times over for this treat.

So I tried the chicken kabobs here years ago and wasn't blown away by them. I guess that's why I hadn't been back in so long. But I finally went back and tried the fried chicken which was spiced well enough not to be bland, but mine was a little overcooked. The biscuits didn't look like much but we're actually surprisingly soft and tasty. The mashed potatoes were just that - mashed potatoes with skin on. While I love that they left the skin on, it lacked any other flavor. The mac and cheese was, and I can't believe I thought this -- too cheesy. In all, this place is a little less than ok. It will probably be another few years before I go back.

For being a New Yorker most of my life & haven eaten all the halal food there, & now being a Marylander I can say they meet my New York halal taste

The food is over priced considering that the size of the wings are crazy small. Could have made them myself at home.

Yummmmy! This is a great late night or after work and don't want to cook spot! The food is very well seasoned! I've had the fried chicken, veggie plate, gyro, curry and lamb chops. They were all very good. The chicken is perfectly cooked with the right amount of breading and not salty. My favorite dish by far is the Lamb chops... You get a great amount of food and even the salad it comes with is good, be warned that the chops have some spice to it (which I like). My only issue with this eatery is the wait, which you can alleviate by calling in your order. If you order something that has to be cooked and the place is full, you will have quite a wait. I really want to give it 4.5 stars but I rounded up for this one. Crown and Sapodilla's are my to go spots down here in Southern MD!
